1964-83 Toyota Landcruiser 22 Gallon Rear Fuel Cell

Description

This is the famous Downey Off Road Mfg. 22 gallon rear fuel cell that mounts at the rear of the FJ40 frame on 1965-83 Toyota Landcruisers.  The tank is constructed of Rotomolded Cross-Linked Polyetheylene, one piece, no welds, will never rust. We had the tank laboratory tested against a steel auxiliary tank, the 16 gauge steel tank ripped open during testing, the 1/4" wall thickness polyethylene tank merely dented, no rip, no fuel loss, stronger than a steel tank. This tank includes a top aluminum plate and interior bolt ring that houses the fuel pick-up and return line 6AN fittings, and a hole (and screws) for mounting a sending unit. The tank also includes a complete filler neck/gas cap/hose/clamp kit. The tank also includes mounting straps with mounting hardware kit. The tank includes a 10 page illustrated installation instruction manual.
This rear fuel cell does not include baffles because it is a legitimate racing fuel cell, so can use fuel cell foam brick blocks. We do not recommend using the foam bricks because (a) they are very expensive, (b) you will not be racing, so are not required to use the bricks, and (c) the tank is under the floorboard at the rear of the vehicle, you will not hear gas sloshing.
NOTE: If ordering the optional aluminum skid plate, you will not receive the tank mounting straps, the skid plate is the mounting straps.
